The name Yūgen derives from the Japanese concept, loosely translated as a profound, mysterious sense of beauty. These values are reflected in the design and the ethos behind the magazine; 'the beautiful unknown'. The spreads use deep colours and layering to reflect the mystery and exploration associated with unconventional destinations.
